John's Oyster Bar at John Ascuaga's Nugget

Since 1959, John's Oyster Bar has been a favorite among locals and visitors alike for an excellent meal in a terrific nautical setting.

John's Oyster Bar is famous for offering the best in quality seafood, and friendly service. Pan roasts, seafood Louies, seafood cocktails, chowder and gumbo and Lazyman's Cioppino (no shells) are just a few of the Oyster Bar's popular menu items.

The nautical decor of the restaurant and adjacent bar and lounge resembles the historic sailing ships of centuries past. Artifacts from that era including barrels, sea chests, wood crates, jugs and lanterns are displayed along the walls and in the loft areas.

The back wall of the cocktail area continues the nautical theme with two unique aquariums that give the illusion of viewing underwater sea life though a large ship's portholes.

Located on the main floor, near the Victorian Avenue entrance, the Oyster Bar is open for lunch and dinner.
