Edgewood Tahoe has played host to a variety of major golf events. In 1980, the U.S.G.A. would host an event in the state of Nevada for the first time. The 55th annual US Public Links Championship came to Lake Tahoe with Jodie Mudd, a junior at Georgia Southern College coming out on top.
The U.S.G.A. would return to Edgewood Tahoe in 1985 for U.S. Senior Open Championship. Miller Barber came away with the title that year and was the only player in the field to manage to break par that week on the demanding layout.
